The Columbia Fly Casting School (formerly the Kittitas Valley Fly Fishing School) was founded in 2000 by Len Zickler to offer beginning fly-fishing and casting classes. The home base of the school is located in Tacoma, however "on the water" classes are offered in Kittitas County near Cle Elum, Washington.

The motto of the school is "enhancing cold water resources through fly fishing instruction". The Yakima River is our passion, and we are proud members of the Yakima River Fly Fishers, and sponsors of Northwest Public Radio's Saturday morning Weekend Edition.

The schools location is within a stones throw of the Yakima River and Iron Horse State Park - affording easy wade access to the Yakima and Cle Elum Rivers for instructional purposes. Classes may be booked by contacting the School at 253-797-6850 or at info@fly-fish-school.com. Over night accommodations can be easily arranged at a variety of venues in nearby Cle Elum or Ellensburg.

In 2003 the Columbia Fly Casting School affiliated with Jack Mitchell and the Evening Hatch in Ellensburg, Washington, to offer a full range of instructional options from beginning to advanced fly-fishing and casting techniques. Students may combine class instruction with an on the water fishing experience. The Evening Hatch offers the largest selection of experienced guides in the State for this purpose.
